Panrico® invests 12.5 million in its Artiach® factory

•    With this investment, the company will set into operation two new production lines for Chiquilín® Ositos, Marbú Dorada® and Dinosaurus® biscuits.

•    The Orozko plant (Vizcaya) will increase its production capacity from 30,000 to 50,000 tonnes a year.

Panrico® , leader on the bakery product and sandwich loaf market in Spain and Portugal, is to invest 12.5 million euros in the next two years in the company Orozko (Vizcaya) plant, where Artiach® biscuits are made.

This new project features the installation of two new production lines for Chiquilín® Ositos, Dinosaurus® and Marbú Dorada® biscuits, and will enable the company to increase its production capacity from 30,000 to 50,000 tonnes per year.

Panrico is thus reasserting its solid commitment to the Artiach® plant in Orozko, which currently has a workforce of 240, a high level of technology, and optimum quality and food safety certification standards. It also shows the company’s firm commitment to innovation and the development of its brands, and places it at the forefront of technology in the food sector in Spain.

After the July 2008 acquisition of the Artiach biscuit business and its most emblematic brands, Panrico® assumed second position on the biscuit market and now has a share of 12%.

In 2007, turnover for the brands included in the operation -Chiquilín® , Filipinos® , Artinata® , Artichoco®, Articoco® , Artiavellana® , Artilimón® , Artiturrón® , Digesta, Princesa, Mini Princesa, Mila, Morena, Selección, Tentaciones, Marbú Dorada® and Dinosaurus® - amounted to 70 million euros.
